[Review] Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint Pack (Virgin Red)

Price: $5.98 (~RM25)
from bbcosmetic.com (enter C10T190S3 for 10% off)
Verdict: 8/10
Repurchase: Yes!

I thought this was magic the first time I read it up. It's a smudge-proof lip tint that, after you let it dry on your lips for a few minutes, you peel off the outer layer to leave a clear stain of your desired color on your lip.

And then, get this, it stays on without smudging anything and everything you love. This lipstick tattoo is resistant to water, sebum, sweat, chocolate, soup, kisses, and a zombie apocaplyse for all I know. The color stays for 12 hours, during which time you can do whatever you want without having to reapply lipstick. Glorious.

Price

I bought this for $5.98, which is roughly RM25 on bbcosmetic.com. I've seen the same thing being sold on 11street for RM25, but shipping adds an additional fee of RM6 for West Malaysia and RM10 for East Malaysia.

In comparison, bbcosmetic ships for free directly from Korea, so you have the advantage of knowing that you're definitely getting an original product. In addition, you get free samples with your orders. There's a 10% coupon code you can use to save on the order as well. Just enter C10T190S3 upon checkout to get the discount.

Purchased from: BBCosmetic.com
Samples: Loads! A whole load!
Delivery Time: 12 - 35 business days.

First Impression

Before: My lips before the lip tint. My lips do have a natural red tint to them, but my skin is fairly tanned, so it negates the natural redness.

Application: Getting it on was pretty simple. I applied the product directly on my lips and peeled it off after waiting 5-10 minutes. I was impatient and waited only 5. A lovely redditor testing putting the tint on overnight to see if it would leave a better stain/ have better staying power and found out that it doesn't.

After: Immediately after applying lip tint. It is really incredibly red, which is to be expected since I used the blood-red (virgin-red) option of lip tint. Applicaiton was a little messy and I ended up getting the tint all over my fingers since I clumsily tried to clean off the excess with my finger tips.

Peeling was both effortless and painless, except for the part where I messed up and had lip tint on the inside of my mouth (where it's a little wet). Don't get any on the inside of your mouth (duh. :( ). The lip tint should come off smoothly and in one piece.

Protip: Use a lip brush for application and apply lip balm after peeling off a lyer of the lip stain. ^^ It won't even stain your lip balm! So polite I love it.

Post-Lunch: After lunch, which was approximately 6 hours later. It's still a little red, but most of the vivid color has gone away, which was good, since I felt a little too self-conscious with my lips being so bright red.

As you can tell, my application was not the best, since you can see that the sides were more stained than the outer lip and the upper lip was darker than the bottom lip. Something to work on, but not too bad!

Post Dinner: This was taken after dinner, approximately 12 hours later. Compared to my pre-tint picture, my lips was definitely still stained red. That's incredible!0

Now the only problem I had left was on how to get rid of the tint! I couldn't get it off with my normal oil cleanser, but I did apply lip balm on my lips prior to sleeping and the stain was gone the next day.

Performance

The application was a little messy but I reckon it's one of those things you'd learn how to do perfectly after the first few times. ^^

Frankly, I'm blown away by how well this worked! I've never liked how lipstick stains everything I touch with my lips and how I'd have to reapply makeup after meals so this is the perfect solution for it. It says it's moisturizing, but I felt like my lip was drier the whole time I had it on. Luckily, I could just smear on my lip balm without worrying about that staining. Oh, I do love it.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • No staining on anything past application!
  • Staying power is incredible
  • Water-, food-, & generally life-proof
  • Possible to layer other colors over the tint and apply lip balm
  • Doesn't smell like anything and doesn't leave a sticky residue. You'd barely notice it's there.
  • 9 colors to choose from

Cons:

  • Takes 5 minutes to dry (seriously, this isn't even a complain as much as it is a PSA)
  • Hard to remove at the end of the day (but if you apply in the morning, you needn't worry about that)
  • Touchups are hard and you need to apply it right the first time
  • A little drying on your lip (just apply lip balm)
  • Once it's on, you're stuck with the color, so do test out the color before any important events!

Full disclosure: The only product I paid for in this haul was the Berrisom Tint. Everything else was sponsored by BB Cosmetic. None of the links are affiliated. Everything I've written reflects my personal opinion.

BBcosmetic.com

I saw this website quite by chance. It popped up during a discussion thread in /r/asianbeauty. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the source (it was lost the moment I closed the tab).

Truthfully, at first glance the site was lacklustre. It lacked the oomph and energy that some selling sites imbue their front page with. Instead, they have a very no-nonsense approach to their front page (white background with black font), which has it's advantages because the first thing I saw that they were having a Cosrx sale, which had me really excited. I am very curious about all things Cosrx and am constantly experimenting with new products. The sale brought their prices down to the lowest I have ever seen on any site (when you include shipping). It's an especially sweet deal because they offer free worldwide shipping.

 A Little Background

AKA, Are they any good/trustworthy? Short answer: Yes.

That led me to do a little digging. BB Cosmetic is based in Korea and has been in business for 5 years to customers all over the world. but they have a USA branch that allows them to ship items via USPS to buyers in Korea. This means their shipping time would be spectacular for those of you in the US.

Nevertheless, it was really impressive for me in Malaysia too. Their staff boast impressive language skills, ranging from English and Japanese, to Russian and well, I'm assuming Korean.

Tips & Tricks

Like Jolse, this BBcosmetic has occasional sales featuring different brands. They do, however, go up to 30% instead of Jolse's 20%. Coincidentally, Jolse is having a 20% off all brands right now. A quick price comparison shows that BBCosmetics Cosrx Natural Skin Returning Emulsion is selling for $13.99 whereas Jolse is selling it for $15.20. Their Cosrx Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol is also selling for cheaper at $13.99 instead of $14.40.

On the other hand, their low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is a tad more expensive at $9.35 compared to Jolse's $8.80. This is only one site though, so you do have to do more price comparisons to be certain that you're getting the best deal. I'm comparing BBcosmetic with Jolse since both sites offer free international shipping with no minimum purchase and I've bought from both sites before.

Also, be sure to like their facebook page since they do flash 50% off sales for different items randomly once a day. The other day, they had a 50% sale off their Cosrx BHA and was selling it for only $10.50. I can't believe I missed that sale. They've also sold 15 Innisfree Face Masks for $8.99. The catch is that they only have 5 of this for sale at any one time.

Update: They've discontinued this deal. :(

Shipping & Packaging

USA buyers will get their orders via USPS and have a tracking number included. Their estimation is 3 - 10 business days. Orders over $140 gets free expedited shipping service. They have a warehouse in the states, which means shipping is faster for those of you there! :)

Everyone else won't have a tracking number unless you reach $40 and the estimation is about 12-35 business days. They had my package expedited. I ordered my product on the 16th and it arrived on the 22nd, which is ridiculously amazing.

The box itself is quite sturdy and they have my box packed to the brim. The items were well protected though, as you can see, which was all that mattered. 10/10 packaging.

Samples

If you've read any of my posts, you would know that I'm a lover of sample products and from the samples given to me, I have to declare BBcosmetic my new favourite shopping site.

As you can see from the picture above, every purchase gets 2 The Face Shop Cushion Puffs, 1 Face it Power Perfection BB Cream Sample & 1 Blanclouding White Moisture Cream Sample. Once you reach the $30 threshold, you get an additional Lumilayer Primal (this is what I got).

I love that they let you know in advance exactly what you're getting. Personally, I love that they do this since the uncertainty is annoying for me. More often than not, I end up being disappointed by the samples given. In addition to the promised samples, I was given an Verite Ultra Moist Skin Watery Cream. I haven't gotten around to using most items from this haul yet, so reviews will have to wait until I've tested everything for a sufficient period. ^^

Orders over $50 gets a Makeup Pouch from The Face Shop and orders over $100 gets an additional Natural Sun Eco Sebum Control Moisture Sun 50ml from The Face Shop. I love that the samples stack up.

They've updated their free samples, which is still awesome. :) Link here.

My Haul

Here's what I ended up getting from BB Cosmetic (individual reviews coming up after a reasonable testing period):

  • Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint Pack (Virgin Red) for $5.98
    • I was incredibly curious about how long-lasting this lip tint is.
    • The fact that it peels off and leaves your lip colored but doesn't stain is mind-blowing to me.
  • Cosrx BHA Skin Returning Emulsion & Cosrx BHA Skin Returning A-Sol $13.99 & $13.98
    • The A-sol I've been eyeing since forever since /r/asianbeauty lauds it as the best spot treatment for pimples. It also helps in controlling sebum production and clearing off dead skin cells.
    • It is recommended that the A-sol is used priod to the Emulsion, which works to deliver a light exfoliating effect and remove dead skin while providing hydration as well. It is designed with Centella asiatica extract water as a base and less liquidy than other Cosrx products I've tried.
  • Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch $7.98
    • This is pretty self explanatory. It's a non-irritating hydrocolloid protective patch for when you have acne wounds.
  • Cosrx Blackhead Silk Finger Ball $4.49
    • These 100% natural silk balls are used as gentle physical exfoliates, which is something I've been curious to try on my blackheads.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Free Shipping and free tracking at $40
  • Gives a LOT of samples with each
    • Like I mentioned earlier, I love that they let buyers know in advance exactly what they're getting.
    • The picture above shows what you would get for one purchase on their site, which is ridiculously generous.
  • Competitive prices when discounted and mind-bogglingly amazing prices during the 50% off
  • Customer service is amazing.
    • I talked to one of their lovely cs, Chloe and she's been nothing but curteous and polite.
  • They're still relatively small and I always feel like you would get more care from cs from small business compared to bigger businesses where you turn into just another number in the pile.

Cons
  • Some prices not as competitive, as proven above where some prices are still cheaper at Jolse.
    • You'll also have to remember that Jolse does give credit for giving reviews, which I don't think BB Cosmetic is doing. They've started offering free credit for reviews!
    • Do price comparisons. They definitely have better prices for some of their products, though.

Conclusion

Do I like them? Yeah, definitely! I especially enjoy the 50% off sales. Those are fun to stalk especially if I end up getting a good deal. I actually got one the other day. A Holika Holika Wine Therapy Sleeping Mask for $6.45. It's insane.

[Lifestyle] Healthy Snacking with Amazin' Graze To Kuching, Sarawak aka My First Snack Box Subscription

Price: RM24.9 per box
Shipping: Spectacular
Repurchase? Maybe...

I didn't come across this lovely gem. Instead, it found me due to my old writing days with Vulcanpost.com. The name itself tickled me enough to do a little personal research into the store and I found myself getting more and more intrigued.

What is Amazin' Graze?

Graze, defined as lifestock grazing on grass or people eating small quantities of food at small intervals, is an apt name for the site, which offers an amazing variety of healthy snacks that promises to be fresh and healthy.

Their products are handmade weekly in small-batches to keep them fresh. They have subscription boxes, where you can have them send you specially packed boxes weekly, biweekly, or monthly. I have never signed up for subscription boxes before and thought this would be a good chance to try one out, especially since I can get 50% off my first order.

Amazin' Box

With the 50% off, my Surprise box came to RM12.50 instead of RM24.9. This comes which free shipping, which, in my honest opinion, made it very worth the money.

I made my first order a surprise box since I wasn't sure what I wanted. Or rather, I wasn't sure what I didn't want. Su Wong, the nice lady who emailed me, recommended the Hazelnut Black Forest Granola so I added that as a special request in the order form.

4 Days To Kuching

I made my order on the 16th of June and it arrived today, on 20th June. 4 days to pack and ship from KL to Kuching? Not bad, not bad at all.

I was surprised by the delivery man at around 10am today since I don't remember buying anything online. Or rather, I don't think anything is due to come so soon. Imagine my delight when I saw that my snackbox is here! It's a rather nice surprise, especially on this overcast Monday morning when I'm still trying to get my head set straight for work.

The box is sturdy enough to keep everything nice and safe inside but felt a little lacking somehow. I suppose I was looking for prettier packaging. It's a snack delivery box though, so I shouldn't complain (but I already did and there's nothing you can do about it. =< ).

Unboxin' My Surprise

So, here's what in my box! I'm a dumbo who managed to open up the box sideways instead of using a boxcutter to cut it open prettily. Hey, it got the job done.

My four snacks include Arabian Dream, Salted Maple Medley, Turkish Delight, & Creamy Coco Choc. If you've noticed the glaring lack of Hazelnut Black Forest, then yeah, so have I. I've noticed it plenty. I tried looking for it on their site and it was there. It was also more expensive though, so I sppose that's why it's not available in the subscription package. Still, disappointment. :(

First Taste: Arabian Dream

I opened up Arabian Dream to try out. That's the first packet from the left. The main reason why I wanted to try it first was because I was craving chocolate and the cocoa-covered chunks in the packets look exactly like chocolate. Only... it's not.  It's cinnamon coated dates. The white bits are puffed buckwheat, which tasted like soft popcorn that's been left outside for too long. I had two bites of the cocoa covered dates and a cashew before calling it quits.

I wish they would add ingredients list as well as Nutrition Facts at the back of each packet to let me know what I'm dealing with though. At least a short list of what's in each packet under the names. Everything is available on their site, but I'm a lazy bum who wants other people to get things done for her.

I'm excited to try out the Salted Maple Medley but not so excited about the rest of the choices in my surprise box. Turkish delight immediately brings to mind gel-based confections with rosewater and lemon coating, which the packet is obviously not.

Meanwhile, the creamy coco choc looks interesting but the chocolate chips looks like what I add to cookies when I'm baking and isn't something I fancy eating directly as a snack.

Lesson: Don't order surprise boxes if you're like me and picky about food.

Summary: Pros & Cons

So, do I like them? Well, the short answer is, yes. But for RM24.9 a month, they might be a tad over my budget for snacks. I'm also quite particular about what I eat, so the surprice box might not have been the best decision. I'll try them out for another month with a more personalized option and decide from there if I want to continue my monthly subscription or cancel.

Pros
  • Free Shipping
  • Healthy Snacks delivered to your doorstep
  • Easy subscription boxes with options to cancel just as easily
  • 50% off first order, so you're not really losing much money to give it a try.
Cons
  • Hit-and-miss for surprise box
  • Prices a little on the higher end

Price: 7/10 (It's a little expensive for 4 packages)
Packaging: 9/10 (minus 1 point for not being pretty enough)
Shipping: 10/10 (4 days to Sarawak? Spectacular!)
Samples: Not applicable (it would be nice if they did include a small sample packet so it would be easier to decide what to get for the next month though!)
Repurchase: Maybe

Jolse.com To Sarawak, Malaysia

I have bad news. My phone died along with everything I love in it. I knew I should've transferred my pictures to my laptop. The thing is, there was no warning prior to death. One minute I was staring at Reddit and the next minute the screen was an ominous darkness that stared back at me.

I couldn't get my hands to the pictures in the phone since it's stupid beyond believe. Therefore, there aren't any pictures of the wonderful haul I bought from Jolse, which is just fan-fucking-tastic. Fuck that stupid phone. Now I have no phone, which means no pictures, but I do love my haul from Jolse so I'll do a review nevertheless.

Jolse.com

Jolse is another Korean site that caught my attention. It's especially tempting since it offers free shipping all the way from Korea. Basically, if you put no-minimum free shipping on your site, I'll automatically want to buy something from you. Admittedly price-wise per item is not as competitive, but that's negated by free shipping.

So, the same thing might be cheaper elsewhere, but once you add shipping, it would actually be cheaper to get it from Jolse. The site itself is pretty straightforward. You find what you want, click on it, and pay with paypal. But first - this is very important - Jolse does 20% off sales during the weekend so whatever you want to buy, wait for the weekend.

Wait For 20% Off Sale

Here's what the banner looks like. If you want something from Jolse, wait for the 20% off.

Also, you get $3 credit the first time you buy something on Jolse so there's an instant discount right there.

Now, onwards to what I bought:

My Haul

Here's what I bought from Jolse on April 23rd, 2016:
  • Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask 100g - $8.67 (RM35)
    • I'll be frank, I bought this because of the discount and also because of the hilarious video reviews of the bubbles. ^^ It was sold for $8.67, which is around RM35.
  • COSRX BHA BLACKHEAD POWER LIQUID 100 ML - $16.80 (RM69)
  • COSRX AHA 7 WHITEHEAD POWER LIQUID 100ml - $14.43 (RM59)
    • The BHA and AHA are one-two punches for dealing with the stubborn blackhead and enlarged pores on my nose and cheeks. These are actives and both require consistent and careful usage to see result.
  • Innisfree NO SEBUM MINERAL POWDER 5g - $5.58 (RM23)
    • This softens skin and controls sebum production. I have an oil-overproduction problem so I got this to help control my face's oiliness.
Total: $42.80 (RM175.59) after applying $3 coupon

My package took a few days to ship and about two weeks to finally arrive in Sarawak. I reached the $40 treshold to get free tracking, which was nice for stalking where my package is at all times. In addition to my products, Jolse added a few foil samples (BHA snail essence, ect.). Nothing spectacular and nothing full-sized.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Free Shipping
  • Gives samples
  • Reasonable prices when discounted
  • Each purchase gets credit (a tiny percentage. My $42 earned $1.7 so about 4% (I'm not quite certain about this)
  • Reviewing items bought from jolse gives you $0.50 credit to be used for the next order (you have six months to complete the review)

Cons
  • Shipping takes a while.
  • Some prices not as competitive

[Review] My Scheming Aloe Vera + Vitamin E Mask

Price: RM2.08 per sheet
Verdict: 9.5/10
Repurchase: Yes!

Price

Picture from 11street

I bought this from TW Street at 11street.my. Warning: Mini rant ahead. It's part of a 24 mask package called and is being sold under My Scheming Scheming Awards mask into 24 groups. A mouthful, sure, but it explains exactly what you'll be getting, which in this case is 24 My Schming masks. The thing is the price of this fluactutates A LOT. I bought this when it was priced at RM93 but discounted to RM65 and I had a RM15 discount code, which brought the price to RM50 for 24 sheet masks. Literally a day later, the price went down to RM49. If not for the discount code, I would be fuming!

There are ~10 different sheet masks in the box, so there'll be a bunch of reviews coming up shortly. :)
Purchased From: TW Street on 11street.my
Samples: None
Delivery Time: Acceptable (About two weeks)

Fit & Texture

Like previous My Scheming Masks I've tried, I love the fit of it. It managed to cover my admittably massive forehead and felt so moisturizing to have on. I threw this in the fridge for half an hour before fitting it on my face so there's an added soothing effect there.

The texture is thin but doesn't dry as quickly as other masks I've tried. The leftover essence on the mask I poured on top of the mask prior to putting it on. The 0.5 deduction from the 10 point was due to the fragile-ness of the sheet mask. I accidentaly tore the mask in the process of getting it on. The material definitely needs some work but I do like how it felt on my skin so maybe I just need to be more gentle.

Ingredients

Picture from 11street
XANTHAN GUM、PROPYLENE GLYCOL、SODIUM HYALURONATE、CUCUMIS SATIVUS (CUCUMBER)FRUIT EXTRACT、BUTYLENE GLYCOL、ALOE BARBADENSIS FLOWER EXTRACT、TOCOPHEROL ACETATE、CETETH-20、CETETH-6、PEG-60 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL、EUPHRASIA OFFICINALIS、MORUS ALBA LEAF EXTRACT、FAGUS SYLVATICA BUD EXTRACT、CALENDULA OFFICINALIS FLOWER EXTRACT、DIPOTASSIUM GLYCYRRHETINATE、SODIUM PCA、TRANEXAMIC ACID、ARBUTIN、HYDROXYETHYL UREA、GLYCERIN、IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE、METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE 、METHYLPARABEN、WATER

Like the My Scheming Mandelic Sheet Mask, this mask contains Methylisothiazolinone (MIT), which may be triggering to some.

It also contains Butylene Glycol, which is known to cause Acne for some.

Sheet Mask Performance

Other than that fragility of the product, everything else was great. I loved having the sheet mask on. I had it on for a little under an hour before it started drying even a little. After taking it off, there was still essence left so I smeared it on my neck, ears, and arms. The essence is absorbed wonderfully and I loved having it on.

After taking it off, I felt like my skin had a nice boost of hydration. My skin soaked up the essence of the mask and it didn't leave me with a sticky sheen. The back of the mask lauds its ability to provide skin with abundant moisture, mends skin, promote metabolism and nourish skin with sufficient nutrients. Vitamin E is an essential element for ante-oxidant which brightens and whitens skin color, providing you with a lighter, smoother, and more brilliant skin.

So, did it do what it promised? Yes! I had some inflammation on my skin from my own bad skin-picking habit and this sheet mask brought down the inflammation considerably.

For the price, I'll definitely be restocking soon. The box only gave me 3 of these masks, so a restocking session is immenient. ^^

Price: RM2.08 per sheet
Verdict: 9.5/10
Repurchase: Yes!

[Review] My Scheming Mandelic Acid Brightening Mask

Price: RM2.6 per sheet
Verdict: 10/10
Repurchase: Yes!

I bought this mask during a Mother's Day Exclusive Sale at 11street. The price of the mask was RM29, but I had a discount code that brought it down to RM25.81. I really shouldn't be buying more masks, but this came highly recommended on reddit and I am but a lowly sheep, eager to follow in the successful chok-chok skin of others.

Purchased From: TW Street on 11street.my
Samples: None
Delivery Time: Acceptable (I believe this took about two weeks?)

This is the first My Scheming mask I've used and I am absolutely and completely in love with it. It fit my face like a glove and felt like a second skin. The entire time I had it on, I didn't feel like tearing at my face, like some other sheet masks I've tried (*coughGuardianmaskscough*).

There's a good amount of essence left, which I smeared all over my face first before applying the mask. The mask is so thin it's almost invisible and didn't freak out my parents like other sheet masks.

When I took it off, my mom said it's as if I still had it on. It was that good. My skin, which had suffered from a stressful 'vacation' that left me with tons of cc's, were soothed and much less inflamed (from my own bad skin-picking). The instant brightening effect was no joke and lasts for a fair bit. Unfortunately, I sheet mask at night so there's only me and my family to appreciate my awesome, brightened skin.

Ingredients (from Amazon):

WATER、PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL、ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER、GLYCERIN、PEG-60 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL、UREA、JOJOBA WAX PEG-120 ESTERS、TRANEXAMIC ACID、SODIUM HYALURONATE、DIPOTASSIUM GLYCYRRHIZATE、XANTHAN GUM、PROPYLENE GLYCOL、PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM / SODIUM POLYACRYLATE、PRUNUS SPECIOSA FLOWER EXTRACT、MANDELIC ACID、PRUNUS DOMESTICA FRUIT EXTRACT、NELUMBO NUCIFERA FLOWER EXTRACT、SASA VEITCHII LEAF EXTRACT、LILIUM CANDIDUM BULB EXTRACT、IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE、METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE、FRAGRANCE.

Warning: It has Methylisothiazolinone (MIT), which is a preservative that may be triggering to some.

Instructions:

Remove protective sheet before placing the mask over a thoroughly-cleansed face. - Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes. - Remove the mask and gently massage any excess serum into the skin.

Personally, I left this on for a little more than half an hour before it started drying a little. Even then, when I took it off, there was still a lot of essence left. Enough to slather on my neck and ears.

Verdict: 10/10
Repurchase: Yes! I would marry this mask if I didn't love my SO so much already.

[Review] Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Getting Rid of Sunspots & Blemishes!

Price: RM19
($4.32 + $2.5 flat rate shipping divided by 8 products on roseroseshop = $4.63 ~RM19)
Verdict: 10/10
Repurchase: Yes!

Remember how I bought one of these for almost everybody in my family? I haven't managed to try them out yet because I'm greedily patch testing other things first.

I have, however, been making my mom use them and I just have to rave about how great it's been for her!

My mom has had a brown patch of sun spot on her face for as long as I can remember and I swear it's started to fade only after a month of using. My mom noticed it first and let me know that it's really working for her, which has gotten the both of us super excited! Instructions

Instruction says to apply this as a moisturizing layer. As usual, the rule of thinnest to thickest (less oily to oilest) applies. It helps that my mom doesn't really use much facial product so I just told her to apply after she's done showering.

I'm in the process of patch testing this and will report back when I've managed to use it for a little while.

In the meantime, I would definitely need to make sure to keep spares ready when my mom runs out and am incredibly excited about trying this myself!

[Review] Guardian Malaysia Jeju Lily Face Mask, Jeju Tangerine Face Mask and Jeju Seaweed Face Mask

Price: RM4.15 per piece during 3 For 2 Promotion
Verdict: 0/10
Repurchase? No.

I bought these Guardian Masks during a brain fart moment. The price for the individual mask is RM6.20 and Guardian Malaysia was having a 3 For 2 sale. I somehow failed to think, 'oh, so it's RM12.40 for 3 masks and thought it was RM6.90 for 3 masks'. Bah. Nevertheless, I thought they'd be interesting and bought six of them. They were twice the price of what I usually budget for masks (RM2) so I had high expectations.

This Guardian Jeju Lily Face Mask is imported from Jeju Island and claims to be able to replenish essential daily nutrients on your skin and brighten tired, dull skin, leavint it radiant with a natural glow.

The main ingredients were as follows:

Aqua, glycerin, butylene glycol,peg-32, betaine, peg/ppg-17/6 coplymer, phenoxyethanol, peg-60 hydrogenated castor oil, panthenol, phormium tenax extract, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, ethylhexylglcerin, xanthan gum, parfum, allantoin, hydrolyzed collagen, sodium hyaluronate, camellia sinensis leaf extract, nelumbo nuciferra flower water, dissodium edta, dipotassium glycyrrhizate.

Instructions were to leave them on for 10-15 minutes and then remove from your face. Massage slightly to aid absorption and no rinsing required.

Let me tell you, I hated this mask with a vengeance. Even the skin on my arms and legs, which I had slathered with the excess essence, hated this mask. This was not the first of the guardian masks I've tried. I've also tried their nourishing Jeju Tangerine Face Mask and hated it.

And then I tried the ultra-soothing Jeju Tsubaki Face Mask and also hated it.

I'm not exactly a mask connoisseur. On the contrary, I've only ever tried a few store and cheaper sheet masks so I shouldn't be able to complain. But man, these masks were stuffy to keep on my face and left a sticky residue that stayed for ages! Even in an air conditioned room! Instead of achieving their promised results, my pores were clogged, my face felt sticky and uncomfortable, and I couldn't wait to get rid of them!

I will definitely not be repurchasing Guardian brand masks in a while In the meantime, I still have three more of the Guardian Jeju masks and two more Golden Cocoon masks. I hope they'll be better than these but my expectations are way down now.

[Reviews] Innisfree Paddle Brush, Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder, & Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

Mini Review: Innisfree Paddle Brush RM20

I love, love, LOVE this comb. It's made almost entirely of wood and the cushion just below the wooden bristles make it so that it doesn't stress on my scalp. I have hair that's almost reaching my waist and this combs through my hair beautifully. Designed to stimulate and massage scalp, it's so relaxing to run this through my hair in the mornings even when my hair is behaving. The wood also gets rid of any static buildup and untangles hair without pulling at it. LOVE it. I bought three, one for me, one for my mom and one for my sister. LOVE it.

Repurchase? Yes! One for everybody!

Mini Review: Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder RM24

I tell my bf this is my cheating tool. When I put this on, my face is smooth and flawless and I don't turn into an oil spill, which is just glorious. I bought this for RM24 at innisfree even though I know it's available cheaper elsewhere but the thing is, it's always sold out elsewhere!

It's a powder that's applied as the last step to my routine and helps everything set nicely. It controls sebum production and gets rid of that oil shine. I love this!

Repurchase? Yes! Once I run out, that is...

Mini Review: Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask (Free sample)

This... broke me out both times I used it and I've never reacted to products before so it made me sad. Instead of leaving my face clean and cleared, I had closed comedones, new pimples and angry red rashes. It really is a shame, since a lot of people rave about this product, but it really goes to show that everybody's skin is different.

I'm glad I had a kit to test out the product because I would've bought the full-sized version otherwise. I'd love to try out the non-super version and see if I react to that though.

Repurchase? No.

Innisfree Sunway Pyramid [Innisfree Comb, Volcanic Clay Mask, Green Tea Sheet Mask, No Sebum Mineral Powder] & Mini Review

I went on a short wedding trip last weekend for my friend's wedding and took the chance to spend a few extra day offs with my SO, who's the best, btw.

For the first night, I stayed at Cititel for ~RM200 per night with and an additional RM20 deposit for the key card, which we got back after returning the key cards. If you're planning to stay at Cititel, make a reservation directly through their website. It's actually cheaper than going through booking sites. I suppose that's cause they don't need to pay additional fees to them. Midvalley was literally just downstairs, which is incredibly convenient. The hotel was a hotel though. It wasn't too amazing, but it wasn't bad either. I had an enjoyable stay. Great for convenience.

The second and third night we were at Dorsett Grand Subang, also for RM200 per night thanks to a Groupon Deal. This hotel. Fuyoh. Selesa daooo (super comfortable). It comes with free buffet breakfast, which is solely responsible for making me fat during my short trip.

Dorsett Grand Subang had free shuttle to Sunway Pyramid. And there's Innisfree in Sunway Pyramid.

There's no Innisfree in Sarawak.

I love Innisfree.

It's clean, which may sound like a given but it's really not. It's hard to be clean in Innisfree. They're super bright and the display is basically a million leaves that can collect dust like nobody's business. I have a severe dust allergy that turns into flu every chance it gets so having a clean shop makes me immeasurably happy.

During the four-day-trip to KL, I went to innisfree a total of three times. I'm only slightly ashamed of myself.

I bought an Innisfree Wooden Comb and a No Sebum Mineral Powder and signed up for a membership at Innisfree. In return, I was given a free best loved collection sample kit. They contain a 5ml Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, 10ml Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mask and 10ml Innisfre Orchid Enriched Cream.

They're tiny and are the perfect size for testing and sampling. I haven't managed to try any of the samples since my testing schedule is packed, but I did try out the comb, no sebum powder & Super Volcanic Pore Clay mask (Reviews coming up).

The second gift for reaching RM30 was two green tea sheet masks and the third was two more green tea (I wasn't given a choice. :( ) sheet masks and this little baby! I'm excited to try this out too, but it'll have to wait.

That's all for today! Thanks for reading! :)
