Verdict: 10/10

Product & Shop

I was sent this  Elizavecca  Milky Piggy 24K Gold Waterdew Snail Mask Pack Sheet in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own, as always.

Elizavecca has been developing and selling products for more than 20 years. Elizavecca isn't a new brand for me. I've tried a few products of theirs, including plenty of their assorted Power Ringer masksGreen Piggy Collagen Jella Pack Pig MaskElizavecca Donkey Piggy Steam Cream Mask Packand Elizavecca Kangsi Pack earlier.  Elizavecca products are manufactured and sold by MIZ Tread Co., LTD.

The mask claims to contain 24k gold and snail mucin filtrate along with hazel extra and galactomyces fermentation filtrate which can moisturize the skin in addition to healing and calming skin problems.

Ingredients and Texture

Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Betaine, Allantoin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Snail Secretion Filtrate (1000ppm), Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Propolis Extract, Cornus Officinalis Fruit Extract, Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Citrate, Adenosine, Fragrance, Ubiquinone, Colloidal Gold (CI77480)

The only product showing up as a possible acne trigger is butylene gylcol on cosdna, though it does contain citrus extract and snail secretion, which some people may react badly to. In addition, it also has galactomyces ferment filtrate and propolis extract as well as alcohol. There's plenty of notable ingredients in this mask in addition to the ones mentioned. snail is good for healing while galactomyces works as an antioxidant that can also help brighten the skin tone. The propolis acts as an antibacterial and antioxidant and can aid in anti-aging treatments in addition to being moisturizing. Adenosine helps reduce wrinkles. Gold is supposedly able to be antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, but there's no scientific background to it, so it's just in it for the fun-factor. XD There's really a healthy amount of good ingredients in this mask, which surprised me a little since the price is pretty good!
I'm more than a little disappointed to find that this mask isn't actually gold. Lol. Probably too much to ask for. The essence is a watery gel that adheres well to the cotton sheet mask, though there's enough in the package for my body as well. It's an odd cotton material though, cause I actually really liked it. I usually prefer thinner fabric on my masks, but this was really comfortable.

It doesn't really absorb all the essence enough to not drip all over me. I find the cutting perfect, to be honest. ^^ Fragrance is added, so this mask smells pretty nice, but the scent isn't too overwhelming and disappears upon application.

Performance

I used this mask while my skin was acting up due to a particularly harsh face cleanser that turned my skin , inflammed, flaky and itchy. >.< This good is good for acne/sensitive skin, which is what I was dealing with when I used the mask and I was pretty impressed with the effects! The mask stayed moist for an hour after application and I was almost sad to remove it.

I yolo-ed it with this snail mask because it's too shiny to pass up. I sometimes react badly to masks containing snail and I've actually tried some other Elizevecca (Power Ringer Masks) and weren't particularly impressed, so expectations weren't too high for this mask. However, I'm happy to report that I'm really pleased with this mask!

My skin was much less inflamed after using the mask and my skin was somewhat brightened! The snail didn't react badly to my skin, which is awesome. ^^ I also found that the red spots on my forehead was less so and my skin wasn't as itchy. All in all, it's a pretty great mask with really good ingredients at a decent mask. What's not to love?

[Elizavecca Review] Elizavecca Kangsi Pack 24K Gold Pack Wash Off Mask Review

Shop: Elizavecca
Verdict: 9/10
Repurchase: Maybe!

Product & Shop

I was sent this Elizavecca Kangsi Pack 24k Gold Content Kangsi Pack in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own, as always.

Elizavecca has been developing and selling products for more than 20 years. Elizavecca isn't a new brand for me. I've tried a few products of theirs, including plenty of their assorted Power Ringer masks and their Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack Pig Mask. I've also tried their carbonated bubble pack, though I haven't sat down and prepared a review for that since I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it's a really fun product that bubbles on my face. On the other hand, it can be a little bit too stripping and is ridiculously hard to wash off completely. It's worth a look though, and is definitely fun to play with.

I have mixed feelings about Elizavecca because they offer pretty decent products for really reasonable prices, but at the same time, I haven't found a product that's HG for me, so I approached this Kangsi Pack with caution.

This Elizavecca pack is a steady seller for the brand. It helps in pore management, exfoliating, and evening skin tone and texture.

Packaging & Ingredients

I really like the packaging for the product. Most face packs opt for jars or tubes or completely unsanitary containers. Having this in a squeeze tube means I'll just squeeze out however much I need, and the rest of the product stays safe and nestled inside the container.

Ingredients: Water, silica, alcohol, maltose, glycerin, polyvinyl alcohol, cyclopentasiloxane, polysorbate 60, lavan dula angustifolua (lavender) extract, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, origanum vulgare leaf/flower/stem extract, thymus vulgaris (thyme) extract, phyllanthus emblica fruit etract, aristotelia chilensis fruit etract, euterpe oleracea fruit extract, rubuus idaeus (raspberry) fruit extract, vaccinium angustifolium (blueberry) fruit extract, vaccinium myrtillus fruit extract, vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) fruit extrac, propolis extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, portulaca oleracea extract, hydrolyzed collagen, adenosine, ceramide 3, goly synthetic fluorphlogopite, tin oxide, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, carbomer, tromethamine, fragrance.

There are plenty of beneficial ingredients in the list, such as propolis extract for it's anti-inflammtory and anti fungal properties to speed up healing process. Propolis is used as a sealant in the bee's hive to protect the colonyfrom viruses, diseases and other intruders. In the hive, it acts to inhibit fungal and bacterial growth. In skincare, it's for moisturizing and trouble-care.

Adenosine in skincare is lauded for it's anti-aging properties. Adenosine Triphosphate is a molecule in the body that is responsible for being the leading source of energy for the majority of our cellular and muscular functions (source). It has anti-wrinkle properties that is a good soothing and skin-restoring agent.

There's also lavender and rosemary, with lavender helping regulate sebum production and rosemary for it's antimicrobial effects. In addition they've included only like, a billion fruit extracts. ^^ I'm not quite sure what half of them is for, but I'll trust the researchers behind Elizavecca that they didn't just add them for the laughs.

The gold, however, is another matter. Even though people in cosmetic claims it has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, their claims aren't really backed by scientific research. I'm fine with it being in the pack for it's fun factor though. :)

Do take note that alcohol is the third ingredient, which may be triggering for some.

Texture and Directions

The pack has a seal foil upon opening. Once peeled off, it's just the matter of squeezing it out and applying it. Instruction says to squeeze out a generous amount and apply evenly over clean face, then let dry for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off. It's recommended use is 2 - 3 time a week.

I tried this on the back of my hand first and the shimmery gold is really very fun! Texture-wise, it applies really smoothly, creating a nice layer over my skin. The fragrance on this is quite strong, which is a given for most Elizavecca products that I've tried.

Performance

TIL my skin tone is gold. Muahaha. It's mostly to do with my phone camera though. XD I enjoyed applying the mask pack over my skin. It didn't dry out too quickly too, which allowed me to apply a somewhat film layer all over my skin.

After about 20 minutes, my skin had turned really white! It dried to a white, powder-like texture that kinds of flake a little.  I really wasn't expecting the mask to have a clay-mask like texture when it dried. It also didn't suck of any moisture from my face as it changed color, which was an odd thing! I really enjoyed having the mask on my face and I didn't feel like my skin was cracking (looking at you Innisfree clay masks). Lol.
After washing it off, I noticed that my skin tone was kinda evened out, which was very nice. I was dumb and didn't do a before-after shot though. My pores were also clean and my face felt more refreshed. I didn't need to follow this up with a second cleanser since it washed off easily with water.
This Elizavecca Kangsi Mask is supposed to manage pores and exfoliate for clean skin texture. It helps by flushing out environmental toxins, dirty and debris that can clog pores and brighten and reduce hyperpigmentation while evening out skin tone. It also claims to balance the skin's natural hydration levels.

Does it do what it promises? Well, sorta! It helps tighten pores (temporarily) and exfoliates and removes dead skin. It's brightening effect is only temporary though, but I wasn't really expecting it to clear up my hyperpigmentations within just one use! I've been using this once a week for a few weeks and my opinion of this is quite positive! I actually enjoy this out of everything else from the brand I use. Definitely one of my favorite masks now! ^^ Now I just got to find a place that sells this and ships to Malaysia!

[Review] Elizavecca Deep Power Ringer Mask Sheet - Tea Tree & Vita Deep

Texture & Performance

The smell for this isn't as overwhelming as the other masks. The essense is also super drippy. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I preceed mask sessions with Hada Labo Moist Lotion and Scinic Honey AIO. It helps with moisturization and absorption of products.

Halfway through trying to review this, I realized that I bought these masks and should really stop reviewing them if I hated them so much. Why am I putting myself through this? It's not like someone's paying me to put these masks on my face or anything. If I hate them, I should just put them aside and call them a loss.

With that in mind, here's a pretty pictures of all the Elizacecca masks I managed to soldier through. There won't be any more reviews of them because I'm giving the last three to my younger sister, who doesn't seem have preferences for her sheet masks. She's happy as long as I give her any to use, so yay for her.

My overall opinion of the elizavecca masks are just horrendous. The tea tree was probably my favorite, but they were all quite horrible, to be completely honest. The fit, the smell, the performance, all just... bad. After doing just this mask for about 2 weeks, I actually considered quitting masking altogether because they just made me... sad. Thankfully, I put on a My Scheming mask and am in love with sheet masks all over again.

[Review] Elizavecca Deep Power Ringer Mask Sheet - Tea Tree & Vita Deep

Texture & Performance

This smells different than the rest of the masks I've tried in this line. Different how? Well, different BAD. It smells horrendous. I can't really put my finger to what it smells like. The entire time I had this on I was unhappy. I consoled myself with the thought that there's only three four more masks in this pack before I'm done completely. After this, I'm just going to wash my hands off Elizavecca masks altogether. No more.

I took this mask off after a little more than 5 minutes because I really couldn't handle the smell of the mask any more. It was so bad. On the other hand, it seemed to be more moisturizing than the rest of the masks in this line. Maybe that was the key to keeping my face moisturized instead of drying it out. Instead of keeping it on for 15-20 minutes, I should just leave it on for 5-10 minutes. It still left my face slightly sticky, but I noticed this wasn't as sticky as the other masks.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Moisturizing if left on for ~5 minutes
  • Not as sticky as other Elizavecca masks

Cons
  • Smells horrible (-2)
  • Doesn't fit well (-2)
  • Essence drips everywhere (-1)

Texture & Performance

At first, I though the essence for this feels slightly thicker than the essence for the other masks I've tried in this line... though that thought quickly went away as I walked around dripping essense everywhere. I had a blocked nose when I woke up in the morning, though it went away after exercising for a little bit. The blocked nose came back when I was doing this mask so I blame the mask.

It smelled fruity and pretty much like all the other elizavecca mask in the line. with a hint of alcohol. It brought my stuffy nose back. :( After 30 minutes, it fell off my face, leaving it non-too-moisturized. My pores were more noticable after sheet masking than before and it left a sticky residue that I've come to associate with these sheet masks.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • None

Cons
  • It literally brought my flu back. (-20)

I've written more extensively about this in my previous post regarding one of the masks in this pack, so if you've read that already, feel free to skip directly to Performance. Anyways, here goes my copy paste:

I bought these from BB Cosmetic during their Facebook 50% off deal. It's sold for $11.03 for a pack of ten and is $10.14  after the 8% coupon code (C10T190S3) with free shipping, which is a pretty good deal. That's ~$1 per sheet mask. :)

On the other hand, there are 10 sheet masks in the package, with no option to get just a specific type. Ten different sheet masks is a pretty risky deal, since there may be sheet masks that you love or hate with a vengeance. I hope there will be an option to get just one type of the mask in a pack of ten instead of ten different masks.

Ingredients & Directions

I have no idea what's on these masks because everything is in korean, but I still have this up because the instructions found on on these sheet masks insist I wash my face with toilet water to prepare the texture of the skin. Honest!
I'll update this space with list of ingredients as soon as I get my hands on them.

Fit & Performance

Everytime I put this sheet mask on, a little bit of my nose dies from being neglected.

The smell for this sheet mask is pretty overwhelming. It says milk but it smells heavily of a fruity alcoholic scent that I've come to associate with all these Power Ringer mask. This is the third mask of the line and I'm considering quitting masking altogether because I haven't really been enjoying them. I will, however, soldier throuhg the rest of these masks and hope I run out eventually (seven more to go!)

The essense of this sheet mask was not as watery as the fruit deep that I used earlier. The consistency is more viscous and as such, that meant I didn't drip all over everything. It's a nice change from the fruit mask that I tried, which made me look like I had a dip in the pool. That's not to say it didn't drip. As I'm writing this, essence started dripping onto my lap and moisturizing my thighs. yay? =.=

The mask was only alright. I wasn't a fan of how this mask smelled and I really wasn't a fan of how much dripping it did. It wasn't that this mask was soaked in esssense. I just get the feeling the material of the mask wasn't good at keeping it in the sheet mask.

The mask wasn't awful, but I wouldn't repurchase it either.

Fit & Texture

Texture and fit is just awful. The mask doesn't really cling to my face and the eye holes are like, legit power ranger level huge. I'm not stretching this or anything. It legit looked that big. Getting this to fit on my face took a little work, but actually wasn't impossible. It's just a lot more complicated than it should've been.

Performance

The essence for this mask is so ridiculously waterly that it literally just drips everywhere. The mask just doesn't seem to want to soak up the eseence, instead insisting on being essence-resistant.

It has a mild fruity scent along with something else that seem to be standard for elizavecca mask. I could be alcohol?  I can't be sure, since I haven't gotten around to translating the ingredient list yet. Having the mask on my face was a chore and I kept dripping essence everywhere. I tossed my daiso mask over this, which helped a little, but my shirt was basically soaked by then. =.= not cool.

I didn't like this mask at all. It wasn't even very hydrating. The lines on my forehead (I didn't even know I had lines on my forehead!) were accentuated! It left a sticky residue that was just really annoying and I washed off the essence after.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Can't think of any... it smells nice I suppose. T.T

Cons
  • Effects are horrid! (-10!)
  • Doesn't fit well (to wide)
  • Gave me wrinkles! D=
  • Did not adhere to skin well.

As of right now, after testing out only two masks, I'm liking one and hating the other.

Ingredients & Directions

I have no idea what's on these masks because everything is in korean, but I still have this up because the instructions found on on these sheet masks insist I wash my face with toilet water to prepare the texture of the skin. Honest!

Fit & Texture

Texture and fit is just awful. The mask doesn't really cling to my face and the eye holes are like, legit power ranger level huge. Nobody has eyes that big, okay? I'm not stretching this or anything. It legit looked that big. Getting this to fit on my face took a little work, but actually wasn't impossible. It's just a lot more complicated than it should've been.

It was soaked in essence, which helped getting it to stay on my face. Essence dripped from the mask in excess though. My neck was getting lots of love. ^^

Vita Deep Performance

The mask smells mildly citrusy, kinda nice. I enjoyed the smell. The moment I put this on my face, my skin started tingling a little. At first I thought, okay, this doesn't have tea tree in it, which is the only thing that made my skin tingle. And then, since the fit was so bad, I went to reach for my daiso silicone mask.

That was when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Weird. The mask wasn't pink when I- bloody hell. I pulled this off and sure enough, my skin was blotchy, red, and very angry. Off it went. I smeared the lotion on my arm, but I had to wash that off too since it was turning sticky and anoying instead of sinking in. The only other mask my face reacted to so badly was the Guardian mask. 0 out of 10. Stupid bloody mask. I had to wash my face again after applying this mask, which is the last thing I wanted to do. I put my precious Benton Snail's Bee Essense prior to masking, damn you! T.T

The ingredients I found are in Korean, so that didn't help me out any in terms of finding out what exactly triggered the redness.

Verdit: 0/10
Repurchase: No!

Tea Tree Performance

Smells... medicinal. It wasn't too overwhelming, so I can't deduct marks from that. This tea tree, like the Holika Holika tea tree masks, tingles a little, but wasn't too bad. It was probably a bad choice to go from something that tingles from a bad reaction and something else that just tingles naturally. I kept checking to make sure my skin wasn't turning red because trauma- y'know? But nope. It's not too bad.

Texture was the same as the texture for Vita Deep, which was bad. I kept trying to find a way to make this fit my face, but it just felt like too much effort so I just allowed it to hang haphazardly. At about the 30 minute mark, the mask called it quits and fell off when I bent down to pick up something from the freezer. >.< It should've done it's magic by then though, so I was alright with that.

Performance-wise, the mask was pretty moisturizing. Surprisingly, the pimples on my face were really calmed! It wasn't as inflammed and there was one pimple that was on the verge of popping and I swore this mask sort of forced it back down. Unfortunately, the effects were only temporary and the pimple returned with full force by the end of the day. :( It was nice while it lasted though!

Pros

  • Moisturizing and not sticky.
  • Helps calm breakouts.

Cons

  • Fit is bad & too wide (-1)

[Review] Elizavecca Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack Pig Mask

Price: RM23.00
Verdict: 7/10
Repurchase: Not for me, but HG for my sister

Picture from Althea Malaysia
I was introduced to this product by my darling sister who literally only uses this one thing on her face (I'm getting her to include sunscreen and other more nourishing products). She bought one for AUD10 but I found that Althea sells it cheaper for RM23 so I got a few for myself and a few for when she comes home. I've been using this for a little more than 4 months now.

It contains 100g of product per container and claims to contain 50,000mg collagen peptide extracted from natural pig skin. So yeah... it's definitely non-halal.

The purpose of this is to moisturize, brighten, tighten pores, replenish skin, and firm skin. Instead of using this as a wash off mask, we're using this as a sleeping pack.

Packaging and First Look

The tub comes in a box that's bright green and super adorable. The outside of the box comes with a scratch-off label that you can rub off to make sure you've gotten a legit product, which is a nice touch since there seem to be a lot of fakes out there. The plastic tub itself is insulated such that there is a layer between the outer and inner plastic to keep it protected. The screw on top opens up to reveal a second lid along with a spatula to scoop up the product.

I prefer pump bottles for hygenic reasons. Everytime I open up the container, I feel like I'm exposing it to all sorts of dust and germs. Also, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning the spatula so that just means more work for me.

Ingredients & Directions

Ingredients: Hydrolyzed collagen, Water, Dipropylene glycol, PEG-240/HDI Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate & PEG-100 Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Dimethicone, Caprylyl Glycol/glycerin/polyacrylic Acid Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Theobroma Cacao Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyglutamic Acid, Bacillus/ Soybean Ferment Extract, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.

The ingredients are fairly standard with a quick check from cosdna. The only potential trigger is Dimethecone, which scored a low 1 as a potental acne irritant. It does have fragrance though, so if you're sensitive to that, do be careful.

Texture & Fragrance

This gets it's own heading because the texture of the jella pack is unlike anything I've ever encountered. The shiny brown sheen that it reverts back to no matter how rough I've been with it is pretty amazing. Other than being aesthethically pleasing, I dont' think that serves much of a function though. It probably has to do with the collagen in the product. This sleek texture also means I would have to use a spatula to get it out.

I was pretty amazed by how this smells, initially. It smells like a sort of fruity bubble tea. I say initially because I've gotten quite sick of the smell. It lingers and clings on my face for a good while afterwards. (-1)

Performance

I use this as a sleeping mask, instead of a wash off mask. When I wake up in the morning, there's still a layer of the mask sitting over my skin. It washes off in the showers wonderfully and leaves my skin hydrated. That said, it also means my skin has difficulty actually absorbing the mask so I feel like I'm wasting product when I'm layering this on as the last step of my routine.

The stickiness never quite goes away for me, no matter how little product I put on so I'm left looking like I have a sheen on my face. (-1) The Cosrx honey overnight mask absorbs much better but seems to be absorbed so well that I end up using a lot of product.

While it certainly moisturizes, I feel like a lot of my other products are capable of achieving the that level of moisturization as well. There hasn't been any obvious improvements to my complexion after 4 months of use.

I see lots of great reviews for this product so I'm a little disappointed that it's done so little for me. It's good if you're looking for a moisturizing sleeping mask that you have to wash off in the morning, but that's not what I'm looking for. The product is good, but not spectacular and I'm not looking to restock this once I'm out.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Price-wise, it's very cheap. RM23 for 100ml of product will last a good while, especially if used only as a sleeping pack. I still haven't gotten through half of the tub.
  • Very moisturizing
  • It's free from a lot of trigering products, which means it's a good product for those with sensitive skin.

Cons
  • Non-halal
  • Doesn't really do anything other than hydration (-1)
  • Doesn't absorb well (-1)
  • Fragrance is a little overwhelming and may be triggering to some (-1)
  • Packaging in a tub is a little unhygenic
