Price & Purpose

I received this Veet Sensitive Touch Electric Trimmer from Veet Malaysia in exchange for an honest review, but all thoughts are my own, as always. It's available for RM112.50 at watson stores, or RM99 on Lazada directly from Veet The suggested retail price is RM119, but you can wait for discounts and deals to get it for a lower price. 

The Veet Sensitive Touch Electric Timmer is a quicky and gentle trimmer for cutting and shaping your hair in percise ways. The 'Sensitive' in the name is apt, since this product has a particular focus of being perfect for those sensitive ares of the body, such as face, bikini line, and underarms. It's designed in such a way that you wouldn't need to fear accdietnally cutting yourself whilst using it, which is perfect for somebody like me.Once, I accidentally ran my fingers over the 3-bladed razor and gave myself three cuts on my finger. It wasn't pretty. 

Packaging & Products

The product comes in one of those hard plastic boxes that usually takes like, a virgin sacrifice to open, but this was well designed! It can be ripped open from where the blue arrow points to and it just rips open completely with just my hand, which makes me happy in a weird way. XD

The product contains: 

• 1 x 2 Sided Trimming head – 16mm and 6mm 
• 1 x comb attachment (2mm & 4mm) to uniform hair lenth
• 1 x Styler cap 
• 1 x 1 sided Trimming Head (20mm) 
• 1 x comb attachment to uniform hair length 
• 1 x Cleaning brush 
• 1 x Beauty pouch to take it with you anywhere 
• 1 x AA Battery

Isn't it wonderfulthat they included a battery in the box? Their reasoning was sound too. You wouldn't want to go home with this, open it excitedly, and then realize you don't have the battery to use it. T.T The battery is inserted in the bottom 

In addition to the entire set, it also comes with a white beauty pouch where you can store everything. ^^

Trimming Blades

There are two blades with the set, a 2-sided trimming head on the right with 16mm and  6mm blades, and a 20mm blade on the right for bikini line and underarm region. The blades are designed to not touch the skin, so I could run my fingers over them all I want and still not get cut. Yay~

But becase the blades don't actually touch your skin while it slices off hair, it doesn't gives a completely clean cut. I'm fine with this. While shavers give really clean cuts, it also leaves my skin somewhat inflammed and unhappy.

The not-so-clean cut is indicated in the name. It's a trimmer, not a shaver. Do keep in mind that the trimmer is meant to be used on dry skin only! That means no shaving gel/foam necessary! ^^

On the other hand, the device seems to heat up a little even with just a short use, which is quite worrying, but I've a friend who had the same experience with this, so maybe that's normal? 

Comb Attachments

For an even longer trim, the combs can be attatch to the device! The double-blade trimmer has a comb that is perfect for cleaning up the brows. I tried this on my eyebrows, but my hair wasn't really thick enough for there to be making much of a difference. XD 

I find that I prefer using it without the comb to trim the hair between my brows (unibrow T.T) and my girlstache. For those purporses, this is absolutely perfect.

Confession: I tested this out on my bf's stubble before I used it on myself. :P The buzzing sound scared him at first, but he was impressed by the fact that I didn't cut his skin off (the expectations are low ya'll). I've heard this being switched on in the bathroom before, so he's been using it on the sly too. Lol.

The 20mm blade also comes with a comb so you can trim your bikini line without leaving it completely bare.

Again, I still prefer using it without the comb to use on my underarm region (especially for those emergency 'aiya, this shirt sleeveless' outfits. 

Cleaning & Storage

After using, I remove the top the device (away from the electrical parts) and brush off remaining hair on the blades. If necessary, I also rinse off the heads with clean tap water, dry it, and then use a few drops of lubricating oil to keep the blades nice and sharp (and improve blade longetivity). It should be switched on for a few seconds after applying the oily.

Because I can be quite aunty, I dismantle the entire device when I'm not using it. I don't keep the battery in the device, since my home can get quite hot and I don't want the batteries to melt and ruin the device.

It's actaully surprisingly easy to use and clean. Initially I thought I'd go back to my disposable shavers asap, but I actually find myself reaching for this instead.
