I was sent this Elizavecca Donkey Piggy Steam Cream Mask Pack in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own, as always.
Elizavecca has been developing and selling products for more than 20 years. Elizavecca isn't a new brand for me. I've tried a few products of theirs, including plenty of their assorted Power Ringer masks, Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack Pig Mask, and Elizavecca Kangsi Pack earlier. Elizavecca products are manufactured and sold by MIZ Tread Co., LTD.
This mask pack is meant for those with dry skin and contains donkey milk water cream in order to moisturize and maintain skin texture as well as skin elasticity and flexibility.
Ingredients and Texture
Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasilxane-Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone/Crosspolymer-Dimethicone, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera (Sea Grapes) Extract, Laminaria Japonica (Brown Seaweed) Extract, Human Oligopeptide-1, Chlorphenesin, Carbomer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Arginine, Donkey Oil (100ppm), Fragrance
The ingredients are pretty good, with cosdna showing only butylene glycol and cetearyl alcohol, dimethicone as possible acne triggers and carbomer and cetearyl alcohol as possible irritants. There's also shea butter, which may be too thick for some. Notable ingredients are witch hazel extract, centella asiatica extra for anti-inflamatory, hydrolyzed collagen as an emollient, pomegranate extract as an astringent and seaweed extra for it's anti-inflammatory and antioxident properties.
The mask is formulated as a heavy moisturizing mask that focuses on helping extremely dry skin. It contains 25ml of essense and the essence is an incredibly thick, opaque cream that leaves somewhat of a white residue, even on my hand, though I noticed it does absorb after a while. The mask material is an odd cotton material that adheres quite well. I usually don't like material that's too thick, but I was quite happy with this mask. The usual thin masks wouldn't be able to keep as much of the thick, creamy essence.
I had enough leftover of the 25g essense to apply on my body.
Performance
This is one mask I would not have purchased on my own, since my skin is oily/combo and pretty clog-prone. Anything too heavy tends to break out my skin, so a creamy mask is not something I'm keen on trying. Yet, I find myself really enjoying this mask. The fit was perfectly fine on my skin and I actually enjoyed it enough to keep it on my face for a little more than half an hour before taking it off.
Perhaps what also helped it's case was that my skin was suffering from an allergic reaction that made my skin somewhat dry and flaky and this mask was a true lifesaver. I truly loved it. It had enough essense leftover for pretty much my entire body and while the essence didn't really soak in completely, it was absorbed enough to leave my skin soft and bouncy. After I woke up the next morning, my skin was kind of oily, so it is actually a little too moisturizing for my skin type. On the other hand, after washing my face, my skin was so soft and calmed, so this inadvertently worked as a great sleeping mask!
Elizavecca has this cream in tube form, which I'm curious if it works as well. But, I definitely suggest this mask only for emergency hydration and moisturization for those of us with combo/oily skin. Perhaps this would work best for those of you with dry skin types. ^^ I'd repurchase this for emergency use though, or get a tube of that donkey steam cream that should work as well! ^^
