Haruharu Mask Packs

I received these Haruharu Masks from www.jolse.com two weeks ago and have gotten around to using all of them. I received these masks for free, but all thoughts are my own, as usual. I am absolutely in love with the packaging of the product. My favorite is the one with the woman catching her lover or bf kissing another woman as she stands outside his car. And then there's the one with her trying to drown him? So freaky. I love it.

The design on the packages are meant to look like an instafeed, with likes and everything. There are 4 typs of haruharu mask packs focusing on lifting, moisturizing, soothing, and revitalizing respectively. It contains fermented horse fat, so if you're iffy about that, these aren't the masks for you. The fermented horse fat is supposed to be similar to human skin and maximizes effects and lower surface tension, allowing better absorption and nourishment. Each package contains 25g of essence and the sheet mask materials differ from mask to mask. The Moisturizing mask is cupra fabric, Lifting Mask and Vitality Masks are tencel, and Soothing mask uses bamboo fabric.

The masks are available individually for $2.55 each and $25.50 for a pack of ten.

Haruharu Soothing Mask

The picture on this mask is my favorite of all four. XD It's so ominous. That guy's gonna get it. Lol. Like the Lifting Mask earlier, this Soothing Mask has fermented horse fat as the main ingredient in the mask. Other notable ingredients include plant extract, mensol, white tea tree, and asiatic pennywort extract to soothe sensitive skin.

I chose this mask because the Haruharu Lifting mask caused a bunch of breakouts and I was basically going, "You better fix all the wrongs that other masks did!". Honestly, I've never had breakouts so severe from a mask before.

Ingredients and Texture

Ingredients on CosdnaWater, Glycereth-26, Glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Alcohol, Niacinamide, Methylpropanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Xanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol, Boswellia Serrata Resin Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Extract, SpiruLina Maxima Extract, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Panthenol, Trehalose, Betaine, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Rosa Hybrid Flower Extract, Psidium Guajava Leaf Extract, Carbomer, Allantoin, Arginine, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance, Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methyl Rapeseedate Ferment, Horse Fat, Menthol

It doesn't look like that's anything particularly worrying in the mask and cosdna results doesn't come up with anything above a 3 other than the fragrance. There is, however, alcohol in this mask and those with alcohol sensitivity should do well to avoid this altogther. I realized my skin really enjoys products that contain tea tree and the particular ingredient calms my skin, so this is a good idea after my breakouts. ><

The mask material is bamboo fabric, which is fairly thick, but is comfortable to have on the entire time nevertheless. The bamboo fabric is supposed to have great soothing and anti-bacterial effects. It smells like... Absolut Vodka Pears... I suspect the alcohol content in this to be quite high seeing as I kept smelling it but maybe I'm just smelling the tea tree and plant extracts? The essense is fairly slimy and thick. The cotton material managed to pick up all 25g of the essense so there was none left in the package.

Performance

Performance was pretty great! It helped soothe the active pimples and acne that the previous mask caused. It could be the teatree in the product, since my skin seems to love teatree. An active pimple was actually calmed significantly. Other ingredeitns that are anti-inflammatory include bark extract, centella asiatica extract, and tea tree extract. ^^ Here's hoping it'll go away instead of turning into a volcanic pimple. >< On the other hand, the mask left the same sticky residue even after half an hour and I had to wash my face to get rid of that stickiness. I was surprised considering this has alcohol and generally masks with alcohol dries slightly better than masks without.

Unfortunately, the sticky residue is a deal-breaker for me. This mask is ultra moisturizing, so those with dry skin might enjoy this more than me (I have combo/oily skin).
