Cubecrate is a surprise subscription box that costs RM35 per month and includes a variety of locally sourced products ranging from beauty to decor and handmade items that you wouldn't think to try out on your own. For three months, the subscription is RM90. They also have a wine subscription if you're into fine wine, personalized boxes for a loved one, or an entire team of people, and many other options. ^^

Disclaimer: I received this box in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own, as usual. ^^ You can also check out:

July's Box

The theme for July's Cubecrate box is Picnic! This was such a weighty box that I was quite surprised when the postman handed it to me. Upon opening the box, I found not one, but two culprits! The Aloe Vera and Oishi tea are both quite heavy!

RackunKiss makes another appearance in the box, but they're such delightful cookies that I didn't mind at all. Anyways, here's the breakdown of everything in the box!

Amora Scarlett Sunglasses
I want to start with the star of the box! This fancy sunglasses were such a surprise, especially since I have been looking to get sunglasses for my drives out in the sun since forever but couldn't find one that I enjoyed. These were delightful!

The sunglasses are kept in a luxurious leather pouch that is embossed with my name on it! It was such a surprise and really does go to show that Cubecrate personalize these boxes. If I understand correctly, these glasses were only available for those who subscribed for 3 or 6 months to cubecrate, which is very understandable since these retail for more than RM100 on the site!

Amora Scarlett is a global brand that brings in new categories of eyewear styles in affordable prices and provides eyewear pouch engraving. There's 6 month warranty with each pair and delivery on orders are made within 24 hours.

The brand will be debuting their sporty glam RTW catering to both men and women at their official launch in September 2017.

Chocolate Chip Cookies from Rackun Kiss
Next is the other food in the box! The assorted chocolate chip cookies from Rackun Kiss tastes like cookies from famous amos, which I absolutely adore. This is the third time the cookies have been included, but I didn't mind in the least, since it's delicious cookies.

The cookies are made from butter, brown sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, eggs, vanilla essence, chocolate chips, coco powder, and walnut.

Oishi Tea: Honey Lemon
What's a picnic without honey lemon tea? ^^ I've actually tried this particular flavor of Oishi Tea back in erm... 2016's December box! That was an incredible box as well, with a nice Christmas theme that gave me a 2017 calender from Moodooles that I'm still using! ^^

Oishi Green Tea is brewed with 100% organic tea leaves, grown on certified organic plantations. Using only natural ingredients, Oishi preserves the authentic Japanese feel and flavor while maintaining the key benefits of green tea.

Tinkerberry: Chocolate Lip Balm

Tinkerberry is a Dessert-inspired range of bath and body products. Each product is carefully crafted with the finest organic ingredients and hand-made in small batches. I've tried their chocolate face scrub back in May's box, but this is something else altogether.

The balm is chocolate flavored and is actually fairly sweet. XD It's quite moisturizing so I'm looking forward to using this to cover up the more drying lipsticks that I own.

Aloe Vera Gel
Last but not least is a huge tube of Aloe Vera gel. I have stockpiles of these that I use on my body, since the weather here is really hot and humid, so having light moisturizers that are cooling is the best thing ever. ^^ These do seem to be brandless (even though the inner cover suspiciously says Nature Republic), but I've seen lots of brands come up with these aloe vera gels.

The scent of alcohol on this is quite high though, so I've been using this on my legs since my skin there is less fussy and can take harsher alcohols/creams/ect. :)

Overall Impression

If you can't tell already, I'm really pleased with this box overall! The these of picnic is really nice, especially since the weather has gone to hot and humid, to scorching, suffocating heat. Everything is put to good use and I'm particularly impressed by the fact that the sunglasses were personalized with my name engraved on it! Makes me feel super loved. ^^ This is probably the best box I've gotten from Cubecrate, though the New Year Box from January is a close contender.

For the unitiated, Cubecrate also carter to custom favors, birthday boxes, wedding favors, and events!

[Lifestyle] Malaysia Subscription Box: Cubecrate June Box

June's Box

Cubecrate's June box is Raya Themed, as you can probably tell. It's a wonderfully festive box with plenty of variety and a familiar brand. ^^ There's plenty to look at and try out here, which makes it a good box for all occasions. I spy a few repeats in the box, but I didn't really mind it all that much considering those can be counted as bonuses and extras, since the box is pretty full already.

Oishi Tea: Lychee

Oishi Malaysia Green Tea is back! The flavor of the month being Lychee. I'm saving this for a rainy day. Or a particularly hot day, where a cold, sweet cup of tea would put me in the best mood.

Oishi Green tea is brewed from 100% organic tea leaves, grown on certified organic plantations. Using only natural ingredients, Oishi preserves the authentic Japanese feel and flavour while maintaining the key benefits of green tea. I've tried plenty of flavors of the tea, but this seemed to be particularly local, lychee being a local fruit, so I'm quite looking forward to it. Their tea isn't too sweet or fragranced with a mildly bitter tea that leaves a sweet aftertaste.

PepperMint Avenue: Nail Polish
This is a new name in the box. Peppermint Avenus is a vegan nail polish brand that doesn't use unnecessary chemicals but is able to ensure that the nail polish is long-lasting, glossy, and looks stunning. They have plenty of variety and the colors Cubecrate sent out were different.

I'm quite fond of the color that I got! I wore it for a good long while without anyone noticing I was wearing it at all, which is how I like my nail polish, unnoticeable. ^^  The color is quite similiar to my nail color, allowing me to get away with wearing it. :)
After a week or so of wearing it, the colors have chipped somewhat, but since it's near my skin color anyways, the only one who notices that my nails were no longer perfectly colored is me. XD

Dirty Benefits: Classic Obsession Coffee Scrub
I'm really excited to see this in the box. Dirty Benefits is an all-natural skincare brand created for the bold and adventurous. I've been a follower of their instagram for a while and it's exciting that I can finally get to try this out!

Classic Obsession Coffee Scrub is made with coffee, raw brown sugar, pink himalayan salt, cold pressed avocado oil and cold pressed grape seed oil. A full sized 220g pack is RM69 on their site. @.@ Pretty expensive if you ask me, but I'm excited to see if it's as good as it promises.

It's aimed to heal dry, flaky skin and target pesky skin conditions like cellulite, stretch marks, eczema, and psoriasis. Lots of promises! I'm keen to see if it delivers.

Wunderbath: Kuih Soaps
My favorite items in the box is probably these two soaps that look so much like kuih (dessert!). I've seen Wunderbath's realistic soaps of food around since I follow their instagram and am estatic to finally get to try them! They've also included a gift voucher.

The Kuih Talam and Kuih Dahlia are made from coconut oil, palm oil, stearic acid, vegetable glycerin, sucrose, sodium hydroxide, decyl glucoside, cocomide KET, propylene glycol, sorbitol, citric acid, titanium dioxide, fragrance oil, and soap color. Nothing too jarring on cosdna, which surprised me a little considering how beautiful it is.

They're coco-pandan scented. You can get a set of four of these for RM20.90.

Chocolate Chip Cookies from Rackun Kiss
Next is the other food in the box! The assorted chocolate chip cookies from Rackun Kiss tastes like cookies from famous amos, which I absolutely adore. This is a repeat from last month's box that I didn't mind in the least, since it's delicious cookies.

The cookies are made from butter, brown sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, eggs, vanilla essence, chocolate chips, coco powder, and walnut.

Curated By Popculture
Last but not least is a year-long Curated by Popculture e-magazine subscription worth RM72, which is pretty cool! This is actually a repeat from last month, but I didn't really mind since it makes sense to have it in case of new subscribers. There's also a pretty pink and purple raya packet. :)

Overall Impression

I'm really pleased with the items in this month's box, though I'm docking a point for not one, but two repeats, even though they might just be extras (three if you count the oishi tea). The selection of items are delightful though, and for the price, it's definitely worth trying the box out!

For the initiated, Cubecrate also carter to custom favors, birthday boxes, wedding favors, and events!

May's Box
This month's box is Mother's Day themed and is filled with a ridiculous amount of things I'm excited about, not just beacuse there's food in there, but because there's such a nice varitey of items that can be put to good use!

Granola from Alys The Bakerland
As usual, food caught my eye first. Lol. The Sunshine Granola from Alys The Bakerland is as delicious as I remembered. It's found by Alyson, a food lover turned granola maker extraordinaire. I had this for lunch. It's delicious, healthy and deceivingly filling.

I really appreciate that it came with nutrition facts. There's 246 calories in this granola, which is really low. XD There's no added preservatives or flavoritsn and no refined sugar added. I really loved this. ^^

Chocolate Chip Cookies from Rackun Kiss
Next is the other food in the box! The assorted chocolate chip cookies from Rackun Kiss tastes like cookies from famous amos, which I absolutely adore. The bag it comes in is adorable and definitely going to be reused!

Shower Steamers By Love Is Gifts
This Shower Steamer is from LoveIs, which is also available in The Cubez Store, Sungei Wang Plaza. The bath and body products sold are locally handcrafted with ingredients from all over the world. Instructions said to crumble the bubble bar under running water, soak and pat dry. I love that the ingredients are all given, but since this is going nowhere near my body, I didn't really care much about the ingredients. Lol.

I'm really enjoying the shower steamers. They smell like mint candy that I wish I could eat. Lol. It was used by being placed at the end of the shower, away from the stream of water. It releases an amazing minty scent that I love. Super calming. There's two steamers in the pack, which means I get to enjoy this longer. Yay~ ^^

Eye Bags Be Gone from Nuhaa Botanicals
The Eye Bags Be Gone oil from Nuhaa Botanicals was a pleasant surprise considering my love for all thing skincare related! It's created with all-natural ingredients that are non-toxic and human-tested. I'm uncertain of what essential oils are added in this, but it's really fragranced. I only needed a drop for both hands (since I'm patch testing) so a little bit goes a long way.

I'm not sure if it's scented, but the smell is really, really heavy and I'm not a particularly big fan of how much it smelled. I could scent up the whole room by applying this on my hand. My sister says this smells like mosquito repellent. :(

Chocolat Face Scrub by Tinkerberry
Tinkerberry Spa's Chocolate Face Scrub was right up my alley! I love Skinfood's face scrubs and really looked forward to this. Unfortunately, I followed the instructions to apply this on dry face and it's way, waaayy too abrasive. My pimples were inflamed and unhappy. :( The formula is too thick to be used on dry skin. It didn't leave my skin smooth, like the skinfood scrubs I'm used to.

I'm actualy pretty disappointed in this since I had high hopes. The chocolate smelled pretty good, but everything else about it was... nope. I'll probably repurpose this as a body/foot scrub, unfortunately.

Overall Impression

If you can't tell already, I'm really pleased with this box overall! All the items sang to me. . . maybe cause I already reach mom-level? D= Nah. The items in the box were all very good! I'm really pleased to be trying every single thing in the box and look forward to seeing more from the brands.

For the unitiated, Cubecrate also carter to custom favors, birthday boxes, wedding favors, and events!

[Review] Malaysia Subscription Box: Cubecrate February Box

February's Box

February's Cubcrate Subscription box is Valentine's themed. It arrived actually sometime early March but it's taken me awhile to get the review done since I wanted to have some time to write about the items individually. ^^

Bathday: Rose Geranium Whipped Body Lotion

Bathday is a local online store selling handmade bath and body care products. All items produced are free from paraben, sls and fragrance (for now).

This small tube of Rose Geranium Whipped Body Butter is lasting me a surprising amount of time, considering it's only 10g. I fully expected this to be finished in an instant. I've actually been using this nightly for a few weeks now and am only about 3/4 of the way done. This whipped body butter has a light and airy texture that spreads wonderfully instead of being too creamy and thick. The texture reminds me of whipped cream, which is pretty nice. ^^ It is enhanced with Vit E and can be applied on the body as well as nails. ^^ I do feel like it leaves behind an oily film, but that's absorbed fairly quickly.

It's unfragrance and the smell puts me off somewhat. Bathday was kind enough to respond to that complaint (sorry!). They explained that they use natural essential oil instead of artificial fragrance since that has the advantage of adding skin benefits. I do understand why fragrance isn't added though, since some people may be sensitive to fragrance. Personally, I like a little fragrance in my product. They do plan to launch more and might produce a range with stronger scents so I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on them. Because of my disdain towards the scent, I've been using this as a foot cream along with my giant tube of Vaseline. The consistency of vaseline is too thick and this is just creamy enough to help spread that somewhat. I suffer from pretty bad cracked toes/soles (think bloody and cracked soles eww), and this has been keeping that at bay, which I really appreciate. :) Overall, I'm really surprisingly pleased by this cream! My only complaint is the scent, but everything else about it is fairly perfect!

You can find them on Facebook here or on Instagram.

Candle Nuts By Nadia: Aroma Beads

The pink pouch is from Candle Nuts by Nadia. It contains rosy lemonade scented aroma beads, which is a new product they're carrying. The scent from the pouch is fairly mild and but really pleasant. It made the entire box smell like roses. It smells really good and I've since given this away to a brand new friend in a box I packed for her. ^^

You can find them on their Main Site or Instagram.

Alys The Bakerland: Cornflake Cranberry Cookies

This bag of  Alys The Bakerland bestselling cornflake cranberry cookie is just delicious and disappeared within moments of reaching me. Lol. No regrets. The cookie is made with organic ingredients and are free from preservatives, flavourings and refines sugars. I really wished there were more though, since five pieces was not nearly enough. There was also a severe lack of cranberries. >< I had one piece in the five cookies. But it's delicious shit.

Alys The Bakerland: Main Site ; Instagram

Mediheal: N.M.F Aquaringer Ampoule Face Mask

My favorite and most surprising addition in the box is the Mediheal Line Friends N.M.F. Aquaringer Ampoule Face Mask. I've been curious about these slightly overpriced (RM13.90 in watsons) masks and am ecstatic that I get to try it. I haven't gotten around to trying this yet cause it's so precious, but I promise I'll get to it eventually. ><

Overall, I really enjoyed this box and give it a 7/10. I'm a bit disappointed by how little there is in the box, but the past few months' boxes have been filled with goodies and the quality of the product in the box is pretty satisfactory. :)
